Our government have led the way on the international stage in reducing congestion in our cities and coming up with innovative ways to make our transport more sustainable.
When the Conservatives controlled B&NES Council, they worked hard to bring together the plans for a Clean Air Zone which reduced traffic in our city centre while pledging that private car owners would not need to pay for driving in their own city.
Since then, the Lib Dems in Bath have decided to spend £100,000 on reviewing this decision which not only delays protecting our environment but also uses key funds that could be used to make the lives of Bath residents better.
Annabel said “I am glad that the Lib Dems seem to have finally decided that they will not charge private cars here in Bath after all. I hope that once their review has concluded they will get on with reducing congestion in our city to protect our residents. However, as your Parliamentary candidate, I will hold them to account to ensure that you never need to pay for driving in the city you call home. I met with Chris Grayling when he was Sectary of State for Transport and expressed my support for reducing congestion without penalising the pockets of residents to which he totally agreed and worked closely with us to develop our Clean Air Plan for Bath.”
